Why doesn’t San Diego support their baseball team?
Even in losing years, some ball parks are full to support the team. What is it with So. Calif. ?

I don’t find an empty ballpark a lack of support. I find it to be a sign that fans can only tolerate crap for so long before they have had enough. It’s just like in life, you don’t buy crap if you already know it’s crap. You can get crap virtually for free on TV.
Because the Padres suck usually and there are the Dodgers and Angels and the Giants and A’s that are all drawing from the CA population of fans. San Diego has a lot of transplants from other areas that are still fans of their home clubs so unless they are a dynamite team, they won’t win them over.
California has like.. what, 4 or 5 teams? Why go see a losing team? well, i tell ya personally Id rather go to the least populated stadium just for the odds of maybe getting on TV or even autographs and such… seems more personal when you knock off a good 10 to 20 thousand people
Why pay a bunch of money to go see your team lose? It’s not just a one year thing like some teams, they constantly have losing seasons!
Fans in San Diego have seen too many fire sales. Why should they invest their money, time and emotions in the team when they keep getting ripped away – sometimes for such solid baseball reasoning as “the owner needs to pay for his divorce”
I don’t think it’s fair to single out the SD fans. Even the Yankees and Red Sox have a difficult time filling their ballparks during prolonged difficult times, and they’ve never had to put up with anything close to what the the SD fans have.
I’m not really sure what you mean by some ball parks being full when teams aren’t winning. The truth is, when teams aren’t winning, no one wants to go. No one wants to go to watch their team get their ass kicked. When they start winning, fans will come, they’re not bandwagon, they just want to see their team win.
hey i support them even when they suck, its just a lot of other people don’t feel like paying a crap load of money on tickets on a team that’s really bad. and its not just because their bad but the way the organization has been where Moores the owner tore this team apart because he was going through a divorce so the salary was dropped to less then 40 million and every single good player was traded except Adrian. No fan wants to see that happen to their team where they trade players like Peavy and Cut future Hall of fame players like Hoffman. And when you live in beautiful San Diego you don’t need to put up with that shit, you can go to beaches and do other crap.

They aren’t really classy.
