If you truly want to get child support out of him, gather all your documentation (birth certificates, etc) and contact the SD County Department of Child Support Services. They will contact the father and attempt to setup child support payments. If he does not comply they can (and will) garnish his wages, deny him renewal on his driver's license and car registration, take his tax return, he won't be able to get a passport, they have a lot of tools to work with and it's free for you and gets support for the child. good luck to you both A lawyer is going to cost you and can can only accomplish so much.
