The rape issue is mostly irrelevant. Rapes constitute a vanishingly small percentage of all abortions – less than 1%.

not that I agree with these words but you could counter argue that regardless of the method of conception a life is a life is a life.

If a female felt that she did not want to raise a child of a rapist then she should blissfully have her child and then give it up for adoption.

Personally would love to see all these a,holes that think along these lines tell that to their mother wife sister or daughter that it does not matter about the rape and the baby coming from the rape that SHE has to have this child………… I personally don’t think they would be quite so strident in their beleifs at that point.

The argument (which I do not find persuasive, but I’m telling you what it would be) is that all life is worth protecting, regardless of how it was conceived, and that the life of the fetus outweighs the interest of the woman not to carry it to term.

There is no Intelligent or reasonable argument, especially if the one trying to make the argument is a man or someone incapable of getting pregnant and mind I said Intelligent or reasonable. Besides rape is not considered a sex crime it is an act of violence. You will also most of those opposed to abortion on this site are men

Take a middle ground stance. Say as long as the sex between the partners was “Consensual” then the single cell organism through full term baby should not be killed out of convenience.

ok i dont know if your christian or not…. but here are some great questions/examples i found :

1. There is a preacher and wife who are very, very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she is pregnant with her 15th. They are living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending abortion?

2. The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. The first is blind, the second is dead. The third is deaf and the fourth has TB. The mother finds she is pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you recommend abortion?

3. A man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?

4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She is not married. Her fiancee is not the father of the baby, and he is very upset. Would you recommend an abortion?
