ok i dont know if your christian or not.... but here are some great questions/examples i found :

1. There is a preacher and wife who are very, very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she is pregnant with her 15th. They are living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending abortion?

2. The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. The first is blind, the second is dead. The third is deaf and the fourth has TB. The mother finds she is pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you recommend abortion?

3. A man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?

4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She is not married. Her fiancee is not the father of the baby, and he is very upset. Would you recommend an abortion?

If you have answered “yes” to any of these situations:

In the first case you would have killed John Wesley, one of the great evangelists of the 19th century.

In the second case, you would have killed Beethoven.

In the third case you would have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer.

In the fourth case you would have recommended the murder of Jesus Christ.

With U. S. abortion deaths topping 30 million, only God knows what we have sacrificed in lost human talent and creativity.

Take a middle ground stance. Say as long as the sex between the partners was "Consensual" then the single cell organism through full term baby should not be killed out of convenience.

The other stronger argument is that two wrongs don't make a right.
Single life forms are life forms. Amoeba
The Beauty of the birth could help heal the heart of the raped women with a living breathing human being.
The child never committed a crime just the father.
Adoption is an option

There is no Intelligent or reasonable argument, especially if the one trying to make the argument is a man or someone incapable of getting pregnant and mind I said Intelligent or reasonable. Besides rape is not considered a sex crime it is an act of violence. You will also most of those opposed to abortion on this site are men

You have a very brave teacher, giving out an assignment like that.

The argument (which I do not find persuasive, but I'm telling you what it would be) is that all life is worth protecting, regardless of how it was conceived, and that the life of the fetus outweighs the interest of the woman not to carry it to term.

not that I agree with these words but you could counter argue that regardless of the method of conception a life is a life is a life.

If a female felt that she did not want to raise a child of a rapist then she should blissfully have her child and then give it up for adoption.

Personally would love to see all these a,holes that think along these lines tell that to their mother wife sister or daughter that it does not matter about the rape and the baby coming from the rape that SHE has to have this child............ I personally don't think they would be quite so strident in their beleifs at that point.

The rape issue is mostly irrelevant. Rapes constitute a vanishingly small percentage of all abortions - less than 1%.

That's not a poem. Still I will give you my opinion.
When I was young, I always wanted to look different. I don't look bad, I'm what folks call 'plaid'.
My ma was of this race and my pop was that. No matter where I went, I still didn't match.
I was miserable. Wished constantly I looked differently so I could fit in.
As I got older, I traveled worldwide. During that time, I found out I should be proud of me.
No matter what your appearence, someone is always gonna find a flaw in it.
Gaining knowledge outside of your culture gives you insight and knowledge of others.
Those that question you loyalty for this choice you made versus another are those that
probably wish they dared to live outside of their comfort zone.
As long as you know where your home is in your heart, go out there and live life.
Once you're done you can come home if you wish.
You will aslo have experience to tell about what you learned while you were out.
That's what I did. Don't regret it. Now I thank GOD He made me look like me.

If they got a lien or fi.fa. properly, then they are allowed to garnish your bank account for the money owed.

Yes it can happen the government can make your life suck seriously if you don't abide by the laws, and there is nothing you can do about it. Be glad they did not throw you in jail.

Hi,
Well, what can I say. Being 48 yrs old and a real time embedded software engineer I think you can guess my answer.
I started out in life armed with a degree in electronics way back in 1982. The 8-bit microprocessors, ( my handle Zilog32 gives a clue! ), were all the rage then and digital electronics was growing up fast. CMOS logic was fast replacing TTL. Fabbo times!!! But I soon found myself writng assembler for the micro systems I had desgined and so in 1990 I took a masters in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. I actually learned my first 'high level language' - C - on a DEC-PDP11. Ha ha.
Anyway, because of my electronics background I found myself getting more and more involved in embedded systems - yes eeproms etc.
However, with the great rise of internet technologies I studied and designed web based software in HTML/DHTML, Javascript and PHP.
C++ being with me since its first official release. Funnily enough C++ was not accepted much amongst real time software guys - mainly due to its huge memory requirement but things have changed with progress and technology nowadays.

The advantages of having the internet technologies and embedded systems 'under my belt' has proven to be a great asset as regards work. I have been freelance for the last 12 yrs and are never short of work/contracts - even in these difficult times. The 2 technologies have now come together - take the iPod and iPhone for example.
So I have the best of both worlds.

I'm sorry to have bothered you with a bit of nostalgia but try to remember that whatever your choice there is a wonderful adventure out there awaiting you so enjoy and look forward to it my friend.

Sincere best of luck.

Ges Scott ( aka Zilog32 ).
PS The alias actually refers to the Zilog 8 bit microprocessor I used in my first ever design - a conveyor belt weighing system for measuring weight and flow of coal coming out of a coal mine!! The 32 refers to the last Zilog micro I worked on!
